- Talking about the moral of the story of the cow, involving Bani Israel, and Prophet Musa.
- When Allah (s.w.t) gives you a simple command, we should just do it. We should not split hairs otherwise will land ourselves in trouble.
- That does not mean that we should not ask questions. We just need to be wise when asking them
- The Prophet had said that knowledge is a treasure which is locked and the key to the lock is to ask questions.
- Imam Ali(a) had said we should ask questions in order to seek understanding rather than to create confusion.
- Explaining verses 101-102 of Surah Maida.
- The problem is with constant and unnecessary asking of questions which make straightforward issues complicated and troublesome.
- Narrating a Hadith of Imam Ali where he advises people to avoid unnecessary and irrelevant questions.
- For example, asking scholars the same question repeatedly with different wordings, looking for a different answer/meaning.
- The task of the marajah is to provide us with guidelines; it is up to us and our local scholars to apply them and come to the appropriate conclusions.
- Narrating various stories and examples of unnecessary questions/ complications throughout history.
- The second moral of the story of the cow is that sacrificing for parents may hurt in the short run, however it hold rewards for us in the long run/hereafter.
